I feel like I’m writing my profile for a dating site. Hopefully, this will not result in very bad first and only dates or in bottomless disappointment. One can dream.
But I digress…….
After urging on the part of my Facebook friends for the better part of a year, and procrastination on my part for the past eight months since I purchased this domain, I am finally unleashing the ridiculous happenings of my life onto the unsuspecting Internet. It’s not necessarily that I think anyone cares about what I have to say, but more that I hope I can bring a smile to someone’s face, or, better yet, a laugh. This world we live in is tough enough and sad enough that every once in a while, we just need to escape. Hopefully people will find that here.
I think this is the part where I explain who I am, or at least that’s what WordPress suggested I do. I am a divorced, half-Korean (on my Mom’s side) woman in my early 40’s with four furry babies (two cats and two dogs), currently living in Houston, Texas. I am an only child Army brat who was also in the Army myself, both enlisted and as a commissioned officer. I attended eight different schools from kindergarten through high school: Loomis Elementary, St. Pius X, St. Basil the Great, Owen J. Roberts Middle School (all four in PA); Woodlake Elementary, Robert G. Cole Jr/Sr High School (both in Texas); Westover Jr/Sr High School (NC), and, finally, Heidelberg American High School in Germany. My degree is from the United States Military Academy, where my only claim to fame is that I was the oldest in my class. It took me four tries to get accepted to West Point, hence the reason I was Grandma to my classmates. I have a long and not very distinguished academic career post-high school that includes the following schools (in chronological order): Texas A&M University, Southwest Texas Junior College, West Point, Kellogg Community College, Michigan State University, Western Michigan University, and Baker College of Jackson. My dream is to go to veterinary school and I am in hot pursuit of that goal, which means I’ll add a few more schools to my list before I finally get accepted.
I enjoy making people laugh, sarcasm, hot dogs (yes, I know what’s in them), helping animals, beer, baseball (the Philadelphia Phillies specifically), Monopoly (yes, the game), squirrels, all forms of the potato, my family, my animals, books by W. Bruce Cameron, my friends, reading, music, and Marshall Mathers, not necessarily in that order. I hope you leave here with a smile. That’s what she said.
Read your last post on WPW Facebook page. Thanks for posting. I thought I was one of only a few women who felt that way. From the Class of ’90.

Thank you so very much!!!! Ha, I usually take at least two-three years to make a move, so believe me, I’m familiar with procrastination! 😉

Omission corrected, ma’am. Thank you for the reminder. 🙂 And oh by the way, a cougar never seemed a more appropriate mascot than at this lovely time of my life. 😉
